Rhino’s artificial turf business continues to grow exponentially on a global basis, and Rhino-Turf New Zealand has recently made another breakthrough in installing its first cricket facility. The indoor practice area has been constructed in Donnelly Park in Levin, where Rhino’s NZ subsidiary Powa Products is based. The Levin Cricket Foundation ( a partnership between the Levin Cricket Foundation, Levin Old Boys Cricket Club, Weraroa Cricket Club and Horowhenua Kapiti Cricket) has supervised the construction of the facility and will administer it going ahead. This follows shortly after the conversion of a number of tennis courts into a half pitch training facility for Tawa Rugby Club in Wellington. Powa and Rhino-Turf NZ Managing Director Robert Taylor comments: ‘There is no more exciting product area for Rhino and Powa in New Zealand than artificial turf, and we are delighted to have hit the ground running in this area to leverage the achievements of Rhino-Turf in Europe and Asia. We are currently tendering for several significant projects across a whole range of single and multi-sport specifications and see this as one of our biggest growth markets’. On the other side of the world in Ealing the Rhino-Turf VT60 pitch for RFU Championship side Ealing Trailfinders is nearing completion and will shortly be ready for use in the coming season. This follows on from recent completion of a full size pitch at London Irish’s new training ground in Sunbury, and multi-sport pitches for schools in both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
