Rhino Ireland were delighted to become an Official Supplier of Connacht Rugby this season and all at Rhino send our heartiest congratulations to Connacht on their recent historic Heineken Cup away victory over European rugby giants Toulouse. A large contribution to the victory came from a massive Connacht effort at the breakdown, and coach Pat Lam was quick to credit the role of Rhino equipment delivered to their Galway training facilities this season: “Everything we do at Connacht Rugby is geared towards improving the players and the team skills and the new equipment from Rhino Rugby has been extremely beneficial in helping us achieve this. The Collision King in particular has helped us improve our breakdown which is a critical part of our game”.
This was Toulouse’s first home defeat in European competition for 5 years, and Pat Lam afterwards compared it as a career highlight to his role in captaining Samoa to victory over Wales in the Rugby World Cup. Connacht are already positioning themselves as a strong contender for the ‘Rhino Collision Kings’ title awarded each year at the RaboDirect PRO12 Awards to the side with the strongest performance at the breakdown – won in the last two seasons by the Glasgow Warriors and the Llanelli Scarlets.
