At Rhino, we've obviously got a lot of love for props. They're the coalface warriors of rugby and it's been our job for decades to help make their life a little easier. Now, we're beginning our search to find the Rhino Prop Star 2017.

Open to non-professional props across Britain, we want you to nominate your most loveable tightheads and looseheads who go beyond the call of duty both on and off the field. The one judged to be the fairest of them all will be crowned Rhino Prop Star 2017 – and as if the glory of the title isn't enough on its own, you'll also win your club a set of post protectors featuring your club badge on (worth £540) in the process.

How to enter

Get in touch with us on Facebook, Twitter or email info@rhinorugby.com and tell us why your prop deserves to be Prop Star 2017. It could be that they're the oldest prop in town who never misses a game, or that they double up as groundsman/coach, or that they raise lots of cash to keep your club afloat. Simply send us a snap of your man/woman, along with a few lines as to why he/she should be Prop Star 2017. We'll be celebrating the entrants all year on our social channels, such as Stav Elia of Southgate RFC, below. So even if your man/woman doesn't end up as Prop Star 2017, we'll do our utmost to get them some social media shout- outs.

How it works

We'll compile all the entrants and then our Rhino Prop Star 2017 committee will judge the top three contenders – who will all get a personalised Rhino hoodie! Those three will then be pitted against each other in a social media vote so that the public can decide who should be the Rhino Prop Star 2017. This is open to both rugby union and league props, men and women's rugby, but is for over-18s only. The closing date for Rhino Prop Star 2017 submissions is 01.12.17.
