Rhino has been very proud of the goalkicking statistics for the last two seasons produced by the Rhino Vortex Elite Ball in the RaboDirect PRO12 competition.
In 2011-12 Jonathan Sexton of Leinster won the Rhino Golden Boot Award with a 90% success rate; last season Leigh Halfpenny of the Cardiff Blues and Ian Madigan of Leinster tied on 86.96% with the latter winning the award on count-back
After 9 rounds of the 2013-14 competition, no less than 15 players are at 80% and over and a remarkable 4 players are over 90%, with JJ Hanrahan of Munster leading with an outstanding 95.83% from 23 successful kicks out of 24. He is just ahead of Mat Berquist of Benetton Treviso with 91.30%, Duncan Weir of Glasgow Warriors with 90.91% and Aled Thomas of the Scarlets with 90.00%.
Ian Madigan and Leigh Halfpenny are once more nip and tuck at 8th and 9th position in the Rhino Golden Boot Award table and can be expected to challenge again for the prize as the season progresses.
