Rhino was delighted once more to support the Piotrowice Nyskie International Rugby Festival held last weekend. Hosted by expatriate Englishman Jim Parton and his Polish wife Anna on their fourteenth century estate in Silesia on the Polish-Czech border, the event which was shortlisted in 2012 for the Rugby Event of the Year category at the Rugby Expo Awards, continues to go from strength to strength.
The Rhino Trophy for the Womens Sevens section of the tournament was won by powerful club side Lechia Gdansk, who edged out the Polish national side in sudden death extra time after the sides were tied at 17 all at full time. Lechia previously lost in the final to Romania and the Czech Republic in the first two tournaments so finally triumphed over national opposition at the third attempt.
Our Polish sales agents moreover were also a tournament sponsor and MD Tom Plenkowski presented the the RugbyPolska.pl Trophy to the winning captain of the Ukrainian Barbarians team who won the Mens 15s tournament.
